Let the planning begin!
So you found your person, you’ve got the ring and you’re ready to dive into planning your wedding. One of the first steps of planning your wedding is booking your most time-sensitive vendors. Vendors like your venue, photographer or videographer who can only take one client per date. These vendors will need to be booked first thing!
Although you want to try to book these vendors quickly, you won’t want to just book the first person available. Do your research and book the vendor that will help make your day everything you have ever dreamed of.
Here is a little help with how to choose your wedding photographer.
First and foremost you will want figure out what style you like most. Even if you don’t know much about photography I’m sure you have noticed different editing styles and posing styles. Try to decide on a look that speaks to you and that you can personally see yourself and your spouse looking back on and loving for years to come.
Obviously sticking to a budget is important. Chat with your fiancé and figure out a number that will work for you and allow you to book everything you will need for your day. It helps to start by researching the average wedding prices in your area including pricing for photographers. This will help you get an estimate for what you will need.
It’s not just important to find a photographer that has pretty photos and fits your budget. You want a photographer to you can mesh with and create a relationship with. One who will listen to your vision for the day and help you create exactly that.
Every photographer delivers their photos, handles their bookings and goes about their business differently. Some photographers like myself give you the entire gallery of digital images to enjoy forever while others might have you buy the photos individually. Make sure you know what you want and find out what the photographers you are looking at will provide for you.
Don’t be afraid to ask questions! Believe me when I say your day is just as important to me as it is to you. You will want to look back at your photos and relive the day you said “I do!” So make sure to go with a photographer that will answer all of your questions and make sure you feel great and ready for your big day!
It is extremely important to have your engagement session captured by your wedding photographer. You will want to use this to allow you and your fiancé to get use to being posed by and get comfortable with your photographer!
